Could I translate and publish articles from SkyScript? (11 декември 2009, 17:19)

Hi there!

I'm a web developer and astrologer from Bulgaria. I've created MyAstroData.com web site to popularize astrology, at first, and to make some statistical and astrological researches: someday when we'll have the ability to do that (the site is new, I started it at the end of June 2009 and the registered users are only ~ 1 400 yet).

The SkyScript.co.uk site has really interesting materials and I think that it's a good idea to translate and share them into other languages.

Because of this: "All rights on all texts and images reserved. Reproduction by any means is not permitted without the express agreement of Deborah Houlding or in the case of articles by guest astrologers, the copyright owner indictated.", and after I've read "Guidelines for references and copyright issues relating to material on this site" (http://www.skyscript.co.uk/legal.html), I think that I could ask you for permission for translation and publishing articles from your site in main, of course. Could I do this if I make a reference link all the time (in every single article) and do all that is described in the material above (author, date, etc.)?

For translations you need to obtain the author's permission. So I can give you permission to translate my own articles if, for each of them, you:

1. State that the article is translated from the English language article that appears on the Skyscript website, and make a refence link to the page where it appears on Skyscript.
2. Also say that it is an authorised translation made with my (the author's) permission and may not be preproduced further.

Unfortunately I can only give you permission to translate my own articles. I can give you permission to translate other articles from the text on the site, providing you get the agreement of the author.
